Enter the world of the tin figure

With tin figures one quickly thinks of tin soldiers, that is only partly so. Apart from world history, Dutch national history and biblical history, there are many other aspects. Especially the late Dr. W.G.L. Wieringa , a Harlem mathematics master, contributed a lot to our collection. His series of dioramas belongs to one of the finest in the world.
In 1951 Queen Juliana of the Netherlands invited Mr. Wieringa, to give history lessons from his dioramas, to the form of Princess Beatrix in the Baarn Lyceum.

The National Tin figure Museum is located in the former town hall of Ommen.

Bikes can be put up (unguarded) in front of the museum.

Cars can be easily parked. In the centre of Ommen there is a parking zone: parking disc obliged (2 hours).

Ommen is a tourist town in the green heart of the province Overijssel. All year long, however especially in summer, tens of thousands tourist visits Ommen to enjoy rest, natural scenery and recreation. Ommen has the disposal of excellent camping and caravan sites, bed- and breakfast accommodations and hotels. To set out to and enjoy the magnificent natural scenery and manor house around Ommen, there is for example a splendid "B&B De Vier Jaargetijden".
Visiting the museum in combination with a cooking workshop at "Het lachende paerd" or a visit at the Mien Ruys Gardens can be recommended too.
