Gardens, inside and outside

27 March 2010 - 6 December 2010

Walk through 25 centuries of garden history. Via magnificent models with fine painted, often historic, tin figures you follow the entire garden history: the Garden of Eden, the 'pairidaeza' (paradise) of the Persian monarchs, the gardens of the Egyptian pharaoh's up to and including today gardens. The finest miniature gardens are 'inside' collected for you; absolute pieces of art.

In co-operation with the 'The Mien Ruys Gardens' you can extend your visit outside. The gardens of Dutch garden designer Mien Ruys are a green monument of 25.000 m2 , in nearby Dedemsvaart.

Alice in Wonderland

24 April 2010 - 1 November 2010

Masterly painted tin figures and 20 unique portraits of Alice from the hand of artist Mike Taylor are brought together for you in a unique and fine jubilee exhibition. The 20 pen and ink portraits of Alice (using different models) and collectively called 'Aspects of Alice' are executed with remarkable detailed pointillism and took four years to complete. Note: Not a line is visible in any of the portraits - just dots. The artist used children from his environs, just like Charles Lutwidge Dodgson (better known as Lewis Carroll) did with his muse Alice Pleasance Liddell in his world-famous books 'Alice's Adventures in Wonderland' and 'Through the Looking- Glass'.
