On Thursday afternoons, during holidays, you can see how tin figures are made. With hot pewter and casting-moulds this will be demonstrated. From 14.00 hrs. you can follow up the casting in the tin smith workshop on the First Floor of the museum.

All year around

Children can join searches through the museum all year around. At the cash desk you can get a form. After finishing the search you can hand in your form at the cash desk again. He who answers all the questions correctly gets a tin figure.

The Figure Maker

School project

The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in The Netherlands like to bring pupils in contact with culture and cultural expressions (drama, dance, expressive art, and so on). This initiative was introduced in 2003 for the first grade. By 'Erfgoed Actueel' in co-operation with the ‘Nederlandse Museumvereniging’ a pilot-project was started with four museums in The Netherlands. The National Tin Figure Museum was one of the four invited museums and developed the project “The Figure Maker”
