HolidaysPaintingDuring holidays painting workshops are held for children (... however adults can take part in the workshops too) on Tuesday - and Wednesday afternoons. During these workshops one can paint their own tin figure. From 13.30 hrs. paint and brushes are ready and an assistant is ready to help you. Tin figures cost between € 2,- and € 2,50 each .
CastingOn Thursday afternoons, during holidays, you can see how tin figures are made. With hot pewter and casting-moulds this will be demonstrated. From 14.00 hrs. you can follow up the casting in the tin smith workshop on the First Floor of the museum. All year aroundChildren can join searches through the museum all year around. At the cash desk you can get a form. After finishing the search you can hand in your form at the cash desk again. He who answers all the questions correctly gets a tin figure.
Celebrating your party in the museum Celebration with a feast...? School projectThe Ministry of Education, Culture and Science in The Netherlands like to bring pupils in contact with culture and cultural expressions (drama, dance, expressive art, and so on). This initiative was introduced in 2003 for the first grade. By 'Erfgoed Actueel' in co-operation with the ‘Nederlandse Museumvereniging’ a pilot-project was started with four museums in The Netherlands. The National Tin Figure Museum was one of the four invited museums and developed the project “The Figure Maker” Click underneath to open (in PDF) the program of The Figure Maker. This material was developed by ir. Henk Dooijes of the National Tin Figure Museum in co-operation with the ‘Vechtdal College’. |
